1. Our commitment

K&I Tree Service wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this website to learn about our services, request a free estimate, ask a question, refer a friend, or apply for a job.

We keep working on it, and we welcome your help in finding what still needs fixing.

2. The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG 2.2 Level AA includes everything in WCAG 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and explain how to make web content easier to use for people with disabilities.

This is a goal and ongoing work, not a finished state. We test and improve the site regularly, but some parts may not yet work as well as they should.

3. What we do

As of October 8, 2026, this is how we look after accessibility on this website:

  • Standard HTML. We build pages with standard HTML headings, lists, links, buttons and labeled form fields.
  • Design for different ways of using the site. We design for keyboard use, a visible focus outline, readable color contrast, zooming in, and small screens.
  • Respect for your settings. We design for your device's reduced motion setting and for Windows high contrast (contrast themes).
  • Automated checks. When we change the site, we run an automated accessibility scan (axe-core) at desktop and phone sizes on the pages we changed, and on the whole site after larger changes.
  • Keyboard reviews. We review keyboard use of the menus, the site search, the cookie settings and the forms.

Automated scans catch only part of what can go wrong, which is why your feedback matters to us.

4. Adjust the site to suit you

We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget. Instead, the site is built to work with the settings and tools you already use. Some that may help:

  • Zoom. Press Ctrl and the plus key (Command and the plus key on a Mac) to make everything larger, and Ctrl and 0 (Command and 0) to go back to normal size.
  • High contrast and contrast themes. Windows contrast themes replace the site's colors with ones you choose. On Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android, the display settings for inverted colors and color filters can also make text and controls easier to see.
  • Reader mode. Reader in Safari, Reader View in Firefox, Reading mode in Chrome, and Immersive Reader in Edge show the main text of a page in a simple layout you can adjust.
  • Reduce motion. Turn on your device's reduce motion setting to cut down on movement as pages load and scroll.
  • Screen readers and voice control. Built-in screen readers include Narrator on Windows, VoiceOver on Mac, iPhone and iPad, and TalkBack on Android. Voice Access on Windows and Android, and Voice Control on Apple devices, let you use the site by speaking.

For step-by-step help changing text size, colors and reader view in your own browser, see the W3C guide How to Change Text Size or Colors.

5. Known limitations

We know about this problem and are working on it:

  • Long link names on some cards. Some cards that link to a service, area or project read their whole description as the link text, which can be long with a screen reader. We are working on shorter link names.

If you run into anything else that makes the site hard to use, please tell us. The next section explains how.

6. Feedback and other ways to get help

If something on this website does not work for you, or you need information in a different way, please get in touch:
